Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel experience and a minimum of 2 years recent experience in the specialty.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Team nursing model with a 1:12 ratio, splitting caseload between 2 RNs, an LPN, and a Med Nurse
• 4x12 hour Day shift schedule (7:00-19:00)
• Weekend shifts required as needed, with possible weekend block schedule to be discussed at interview
• On-call required as needed
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact in compliance with NLC guidelines) required, pending licenses not accepted
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required, 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• ADN accepted for this position
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration, respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy management, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Vaccination status required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including cardiovascular, renal, GI, and post-surgical cases
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergent patient care
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 5+ years of specialty experience
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, strict local radius rule in place
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning
• Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application, as RTO submitted after an offer will not be honored
