Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position on a Pulmonary unit requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

  • 36-bed telemetry unit focused on diagnosing and treating patients with respiratory disorders
  • 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Collaborative care model with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as scheduled
  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
  • 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
  • Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Alabama State or Compact) - no temporary or pending licenses accepted
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Associate degree in nursing required
  • 2 years of RN experience required, though 18 months may be considered if working at the highest level of professional licensure
  • 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Pulmonary specialty required
  • NURSYS license verification required
  • No history of license actions, past or current

Additional Information

  • Deliver specialized nursing care to patients with a variety of lung diseases or injuries
  • Requires strong foundation in general medicine along with respiratory care expertise
  • Dress code: solid navy scrubs
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restrictions
  • Virtual orientation includes competency-based training modules
