Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Telemetry unit, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience and 6 months of neurology experience along with WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Telemetry/Neuro Stepdown unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
  • 13 or 26 week assignment options
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Floating required between units
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • 48-hour work weeks approved
  • Charting completed in Epic
  • Scrub color: any color for RN

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • At least 6 months of neurology experience required
  • Neurology unit experience highly recommended
  • Proficiency with NIH Stroke Scale and care for a variety of neurology diagnoses
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) required
  • Experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care required
  • Procedural sedation administration/monitoring experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide neuro-telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and respiratory support
  • Care for patients with a variety of neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses
  • May be required to float to sister facilities within the area
  • Christmas holiday coverage typically needed; Thanksgiving and New Year's are generally covered
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Returning staff who previously worked as permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • No fee for parking
