Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a brand-new 12-bed acute care unit, requiring BLS certification and a valid OH or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Work on 11 North, a brand-new 12-bed acute care Med/Surg Tele unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Weekend rotation required (every other weekend)
• Floating required
• PCU ratio of 1:3 and Med/Surg ratio of 1:4

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills required include chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula and oxygen administration, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of rapid response/code teams, isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral and PICC line care, and experience with neurological/psychiatric and substance withdrawal patients
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Candidates must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer, including a lifetime background check search
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience, but travel experience is not required
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
