Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring WI or compact RN license and 2 years of recent acute care experience in the specialty.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Weekend rotation required every third weekend
• Holiday rotation required as scheduled
• Floating required as needed
• Epic charting system experience required, within the past 12 months preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI or Compact)
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in med/surg telemetry
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), oxygen administration, and feeding tube care
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Experience with ostomy care and surgical drain management

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• Local candidates will not be accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have 3 years of recent IP RN med/surg experience within the last 5 years
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
