Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a rotating day/night 12-hour shift assignment requiring EPIC experience and 2+ years of current acute care experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit with mixed acuity PCU and Med/Surg patients
• Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (contract may include days, nights, or a mix based on department needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS required; ACLS, NIHSS, and OCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with current acute care experience in the specialty within the last 12 months
• Epic charting experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Oncology experience and chemotherapy administration skills preferred
• BiPAP/CPAP management experience preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must come with a willingness to learn and grow their nursing practice
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for traveler positions at any Ohio State University hospital location
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly upon accepting an offer, including lifetime background checks
