Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a Level 3 Trauma Center in Sioux City, requiring at least 1.5 years of experience and Heparin administration skills.

Details

  • Work on the 8 SW Neuro-Ortho unit within a Med Surg/Telemetry setting
  • Patient population includes Neuro/Ortho and general Med Surg cases
  • Patient ratio of 6:1
  • Day shift, 3x12 or 4x12, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required to other med-surg units
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Iowa or compact)
  • Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
  • Active NIHSS certification
  • Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
  • Experience administering Heparin required
  • Valid driver's license required for consideration
  • Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry required
  • One supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last two years required

Additional Information

  • Contribute professional and clinical expertise as part of an interdisciplinary care team managing patient treatment
  • Level 3 Trauma Center environment
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
  • Limited time-off requests permitted during late November and late December holiday periods
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
  • Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments in another market within 12 months
