**Join Our Dynamic Med Surg Team – Cardiac Care Awaits!** **Job Description:** - **Position:** Travel RN - Med Surg - 3 West - **Shift:** 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM - **Location:** Chattanooga, TN - **Unit Name:** 3 West Cardiac - **Cost Center:** 609/62025 **Unit Specifics:** - **Number of Beds:** 30 - **Patient Ratio:** 6:1 - **Staffing Details:** - Unit Clerk on days - 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) for day & night shifts - Nursing Supervisor and Hospitalists present - **Type of Equipment:** - Welch Allyn vital signs monitors - Novameter glucose monitors - GE Telemetry monitoring systems - Rover devices - **Documentation System:** Meditech-HCA version - **Medication Dispensing:** WOW for all nurses, PyxisES system **Scheduling Requirements:** - Equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) **Floating Policy:** - May float to other med/surg areas: general med/surg, orthopedic, progressive care unit, and med/surg surgical with oncology, based on skill mix needs. **Patient Experience Requirements:** - Engage in bedside rounding and hourly rounding using the 5 P’s - Communicate known patient needs to PCTs at the start of shifts - Utilize glass boards for departmental focus areas and video kiosks for updates **Required Qualifications:** - **Certifications:** BLS and ACLS required - **Cardiac Knowledge:** Preferred - **Advanced Skills:** - Knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips - **Procedures:** - Chest Tube management - Wound vac management - EKGs as needed **Dress Code:** - RN: Navy scrubs - CNA/PCT: Ceil blue scrub set and jacket (optional) - May wear white, blue, grey, orange, or black t-shirts underneath (no graphics) - No artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish **Unit Guidelines/Policies:** - Document telemetry applications and rhythm strip acknowledgments each shift - NO PASS ZONE for bed alarms, call lights, IV alarms, etc. **Awards/Recognition:** - Celebrated on our facility's social media with photos, stories, and award nominations **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
