Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg Telemetry RN for a General Surgery/Trauma unit requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Work on a General Surgery/Trauma unit in an academic medical center
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract assignment

Requirements

• Active NYS RN license required at time of consideration
• AHA or RQI certifications required
• 2 years of recent experience in Med-Surg/Telemetry required
• Candidates with 1 year of experience at a 600+ bed academic hospital may qualify with a passing competency test score
• Epic EMR experience required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Minimum of 1 supervisor or manager reference within the last year required (charge nurse references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Competency testing required within 24 hours of consideration for candidates with less than 2 years of experience
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at the time of consideration
• Flu vaccine required, with only medical exemptions accepted
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
