Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification for night shift coverage.

Details

• 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and spine patients
• Unit serves as a secondary stroke unit and cares for general cardiac/telemetry patients
• Patients are transferred from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices
• Third shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a
• Weekends and holidays required as needed

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS required within 12 months of hire
• NIHSS required within 3 months of hire
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and medical equipment use
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and individualized care planning for a diverse patient population
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and care coordination
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and delegate tasks appropriately to other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient falls and pressure ulcer prevention
• Promote a positive, healing environment through patient and family-centered care
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility, with local candidates accepted at a lower rate
