Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry position requiring charge experience and current drip management skills at a critical access hospital.

Details

  • Work in the IPCU, an adaptive acuity unit within a 25-bed critical access hospital
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5, with PCU care provided at a 3:1 ratio when needed
  • Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage required if needed
  • Floating to any inpatient unit within scope of practice required

Requirements

  • Active VT RN license or compact license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 2 years of current Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
  • Charge nurse experience required
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience strongly required
  • Drip experience required, including insulin, esmolol, and sodium drips
  • ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 months of previous travel nursing experience required
  • Small critical access facility experience preferred
  • Must have own vehicle
  • Skills checklists required for PCU, Med Surg, and Telemetry, current within 1 year
  • One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in an adaptive acuity unit, flexing between Med Surg/Telemetry and PCU-level care as needed
  • Charge nurse responsibilities are a required part of this role and cannot be waived
  • Must work two full holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through the weekend after Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve through the weekend after New Year's Day
