Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess advanced telemetry experience and have a strong background in an acute care setting. This position involves providing quality patient care, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical/Surgical setting.
• Monitor patient status and vital signs to identify any changes in condition.
• Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, including Cardizem and insulin drips.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Assist in patient education and discharge planning.
• May be required to float to multiple locations within the region on an emergency basis.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Hampshire or a compact state.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, specifically in Medical/Surgical nursing.
• Advanced telemetry experience is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with the Cerner EMR system is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of administering medications such as phenobarbital on telemetry.
