Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN requiring a CA license, 3+ years of telemetry experience, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 0700-1930
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Floating required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI Blue Card preferred (required for Float Pool and ER nurses)
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in telemetry within the past 2 years required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required and must be documented in work history
• Two supervisor references required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and interpretation required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management across a range of patient conditions
• Responsibilities include wound care, IV insulin protocols, and management of cardiac drips without titration
• Experience with renal, gastrointestinal, neurological, and cardiovascular patient care is valuable for this role
• Scrubs are not provided; any color is acceptable
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous UC Irvine staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• RTO requests must be confirmed and submitted with the application; changes are not permitted once under manager review
• No RTO allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days preferred per 13-week contract
• Manager may conduct an interview but is not required to
