Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of Med Surg and Tele experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting on a Med Surg unit
  • 404-bed facility offering cardiovascular, neuroscience, women's health, orthopedics, and oncology services
  • 12-hour night shifts
  • Required to float to other units as part of a float pool
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Michigan required at time of submission
  • Compact license not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg and Telemetry experience required
  • BLS certification (AHA) required

Additional Information

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and monitor condition trends throughout hospital stay
  • Prepare, administer, and chart medications including IVs, and manage wound care or specialized equipment
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and discharge instructions
  • Recognize early signs of medical deterioration and respond swiftly to stabilize patients
  • Navy blue scrubs required per dress code
  • Local candidates within a 35 mile radius are considered local travelers and receive a reduced travel rate
  • No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested
