Travel Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; a permanent Ohio license or compact license must be in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent permanent nursing experience in medical-surgical telemetry or a closely related specialty
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification completed before the start date
• Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, completed within the past 12 months
• Ability to successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation
• Completion of required credentialing, background screening, and pre-employment health requirements

Med-Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical telemetry and cardiac step-down patients
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, identify changes in patient condition, and communicate concerns promptly
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to clinical changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established protocols
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Provide clear handoff communication and support patient and family education
