Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring EPIC experience and prior charge nurse experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit with primarily Med/Surg patient population
• 1:6 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-730a
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Charge RN shifts required as needed
• Floating required across all Cone Health facilities as needed
• 26-week assignment only, no 13-week option
• EPIC EMR used
• Utilizes Rapid Response/Code teams
• Performs blood product administration, peripheral line care, and IV starts
• Administers Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Uses Nasal Cannula and follows isolation precautions

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG testing required
• Must pass a Pass/Fail compliance EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
• Skills in respiratory care, GI care, wound care, and IV insulin protocols preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, blood product administration, and IV therapy
• Participate in Rapid Response/Code team activations
• Complete unit-based orientation modules averaging 2-4 hours, not included in scheduled hours
• Study materials for the EKG exam are not provided by the facility
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• No option for post-submission RTO adjustments
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
