Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring a VA or compact RN license and 1-2 years of experience.

Details

  • Medical Surgical Combination unit within a 220-bed acute-care hospital
  • 41-bed unit serving an all-ages patient population
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Common diagnoses include post-op orthopedic procedures and total joint replacements
  • Uses Meditech EHR system
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required, with additional weekend work as needed
  • On-call requirements as needed
  • Floating required as needed, potentially within a 25-mile radius of the facility

Requirements

  • Active RN license (VA or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Handle with Care
  • 1-2 years of RN experience required
  • Strong critical thinking skills and sound clinical judgment required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-stress environment

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg and Telemetry patients recovering from surgical procedures, including orthopedic and total joint cases
  • No specific scrub color required, but casual wear is not permitted
  • Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel rate
  • Unable to accommodate specific scheduling or holiday requests
  • Previous permanent staff employment at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months is not eligible
  • Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis
  • Random drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form required
  • All required certifications must be completed prior to start
