Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift acute care position with telemetry and swing bed experience required.

Details

  • Acute care Medical Surgical unit with telemetry, progressive care, and swing bed patients
  • 20-bed unit within a 40 licensed bed facility (including 10 swing beds)
  • Average daily census of 10 patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:6 for acute care and 1:10 for swing bed patients
  • Support provided by PCTs on the floor and House Supervisors
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • No floating required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Block scheduling available
  • Cerner EMR preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or compact)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS certification preferred
  • 3 years of experience preferred
  • Required skills include IV starts, nursing assessments, and telemetry monitoring
  • ICU drip experience preferred
  • Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
  • Driver's license with permanent home address matching ID required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across acute, progressive care, and swing bed patient populations
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
  • RTO requests must be less than one week for this 13-week assignment
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years will not be considered
