Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, 8-Week Assignment

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Pikeville, Kentucky
• Assignment Type: 8-week travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: December 12, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week, typically four 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: No blocked scheduling; every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Clinical Setting: Approximately 340-bed Level II trauma environment
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
• Floating: May float throughout Medical-Surgical/Telemetry and other inpatient areas based on department needs
• Dress Code: Black scrubs

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or a valid Compact RN license
• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Level I or Level II trauma nursing experience required
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms
• EKG assessment required during the compliance process
• CareVue or Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience preferred; site-based training may be available
• Ability to adapt to changing patient-care needs, float assignments, and a fast-paced acute-care environment
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved medical or religious declination applies; weekly testing is required for approved declinations

Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly identify and communicate changes in patient condition
• Complete patient assessments, medication administration, treatments, care planning, and clinical documentation
• Manage an assignment of approximately six patients while prioritizing patient safety and quality outcomes
• Float to other inpatient units as needed and provide flexible clinical support across the care team
• Assist with unit support or aide-level tasks when required by patient-care demands
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate effective patient care
• Demonstrate reliability, resilience, professionalism, and strong teamwork throughout the travel nursing assignment
