Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a minimum of 2 years recent experience and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Med/Surg overflow unit handling post-surgical and observation patients
• Unit is transitioning to a team nursing model with LPN support
• Patient ratio of 1:6/7
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed, with possible weekend block scheduling
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines (TN or compact license required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required, 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required
• BLS and NIHSS certification required
• Telemetry skills required
• IV start skills preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Vaccination status must be disclosed

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele overflow unit supporting post-surgical and observation patients
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application, as RTO requested after an offer is made will not be honored
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 of these holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Former travelers who completed a full-year assignment must wait 1 full year before returning
