Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift contract requiring prior travel nursing experience and EKG proficiency.

Details

  • Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Will care for boarded patients in the ED, not ED patients
  • Floating required to other Med/Surg units when not needed in the ED
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every-other weekend requirement
  • Holiday coverage required as needed (1-2 holidays during contract)
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required
  • BLS certification required (American Heart or American Red Cross only)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required, 4+ years preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required with at least 1 completed travel assignment
  • EKG experience required
  • Must pass a Relias EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to submission
  • Must pass an on-site EKG test on Day 1 of orientation
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • New graduates not accepted
  • Date of birth required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required, with 1 reference mandatory from the most recent travel assignment

Additional Information

  • Care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients including those boarded in the ED
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Must reside within a 50-mile local radius
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated for 12 months before being considered as a traveler
  • RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for this 8-week contract
  • Hospital conducts a brief interview (approximately 10-15 minutes) as part of the hiring process
