Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a Compact state; pending license may be accepted for submission
  • Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac floor, telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience required
  • Travel nurse experience preferred unless the candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown care, and post-MI patients
  • Ability to manage cardiac drips, chest tubes, non-invasive airway support, and sheath removal
  • Must be comfortable floating within or near the facility as needed
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • Flu vaccine required; medical and religious exemptions only
  • Open to working nights and required weekend coverage

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with cardiac and vascular conditions
  • Monitor telemetry, assess rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and cardiac instability
  • Care for patients recovering from CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Watchman procedures, vascular surgeries, thoracic procedures, and post-cardiac interventions
  • Support post-procedure care including sheath management, sheath removal, chest tubes, and post-cath monitoring
  • Administer and manage cardiac drips, respiratory support devices, and other unit-specific therapies per protocol
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote safe, efficient, patient-centered care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively using unit systems and SBAR
  • Adapt to varying patient acuity and maintain strong clinical standards in a dynamic acute care environment
