Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Travel Contract in Salisbury, NC

Telemetry Travel Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week night shift contract in Salisbury, North Carolina. Travel RN Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,860
  • Location: Salisbury, North Carolina
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks

  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours weekly
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.
  • Unit: Adult cardiac telemetry and stroke care
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 5–6 patients per nurse
  • Orientation: 36 hours, including availability throughout the first week
  • Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend, plus two Mondays and two Fridays during a six-week period
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling with leadership oversight; no block scheduling

Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license; pending licensure may be considered for submission
  • At least 2 years of recent acute-care Registered Nurse experience
  • Strong cardiac telemetry nursing experience; PCU, stepdown, or progressive-care experience is preferred but not required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac drips, and pre- and post-procedure cardiac care
  • Experience with Epic documentation is preferred
  • Ability to care for adult patients with cardiac and neurologic conditions in a high-acuity, rapidly changing environment
  • Willingness to float within or near the assigned care area as needed

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult cardiac, stroke, and telemetry patients
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognize clinical deterioration, and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Care for patients before and after cardiac catheterization, pacemaker or defibrillator implantation, cardiac surgery, myocardial infarction, and peripheral vascular procedures
  • Manage cardiac medications and drips, including Cardizem, dopamine, and amiodarone, according to established protocols
  • Provide care for patients with dysrhythmias, CHF, unstable angina, chest pain, CVA, and TIA
  • Manage TR bands, arterial lines, central lines, peripheral IVs, oxygen therapy, and other common telemetry-unit equipment
  • Apply appropriate isolation precautions and safely care for patients requiring stable high-flow oxygen or chronic noninvasive airway support
  • Complete timely assessments, medication administration, care planning, and documentation in Epic
  • Collaborate with rapid response teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, radiology, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners
  • Support efficient admissions, discharges, transfers, and high patient turnover while maintaining excellent patient safety and communication standards
