Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and a compact or LA RN license.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• No call-in requirements
• Epic charting system preferred experience
• Low pediatric patient population; peds patients only assigned with PALS certification

Requirements

• Active compact or LA RN license required in hand upon consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and CPI required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience required
• Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and respiratory care
• Experience with wound care, insulin protocols, and telemetry monitoring preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Up-to-date NURSYS report required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg and telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory support
• May be required to join an emergency response or relief team during facility emergency events
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Orientation is held five days a week
• 2 Manager/Supervisor references required prior to starting contract (Charge RN references not accepted)
• Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Former permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation from the health system before returning as travelers
• All requested RTO must be included on the profile and discussed during interview
