Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring recent acute care experience and the ability to handle a 1:6 patient ratio.

Details

• Community hospital and regional referral center with 171 beds, Joint Commission accredited, Level III Trauma Center and Certified Chest Pain Center
• 40-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with adult/geriatric patient population
• Patient population includes total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• 3x12-hour shifts, 7A-7P
• Every other weekend required, equating to 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No scheduled on-call, though shifts may flex to on-call twice during the contract
• Floating to other units such as IMC and ED is expected
• Uses Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinets, and Zoll defibrillators
• Medhost EHR

Requirements

• Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ADN required
• Recent acute care and telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to handle a 1:6 patient ratio
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• AHA certifications required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse med/surg telemetry population including surgical, cardiac, and chronic condition patients
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred
• Compassionate, positive, can-do attitude valued
• Black scrubs (top and bottom) required; open-toed shoes not permitted
• Orientation occurs weekly
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel pay; local candidates within this radius may be considered at the local rate
• Previous perm staff employment at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months disqualifies candidates
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
