Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring an active NC or compact RN license and 1.5+ years of experience.

Details

• Work on a 22-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry overflow unit within a 294-bed Joint Commission accredited hospital
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post cardiac cath care
• Patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1
• Utilizes Meditech EMR, with prior experience preferred
• Equipment used includes Welch Allyn V/S machines, Hoyer lifts with weight scales, Abbott glucometers, computers on wheels, TR bands, and Baxter IV pumps
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend requirement of every other or every third weekend (12-hour shifts)
• Floating required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Associate degree required, BSN preferred
• EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills preferred
• Experience managing discharges and admissions and basic cardiac drip knowledge preferred
• Artificial nails not permitted

Additional Information

• Work under the supervision of a Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse
• Candidates must be team-oriented and flexible
• Bi-weekly orientation offered with upcoming start dates
• Permanent address must be 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time
