Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry monitoring and general med/surg diagnoses
• Adolescent to geriatric patient population
• 1:6 patient ratio on a 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, with blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• RTO must be finalized prior to consideration and cannot be requested during orientation week
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be separated from all facility employment for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who were previously cancelled or released must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
