Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a general surgical floor requiring 2+ years of experience and a compact or OK RN license.

Details

• 28-bed general surgical adult unit with telemetry capability
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if department has a need

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or OK) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Current license and primary source verification via Nursys within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

• Implement and monitor patient care plans while coordinating care across disciplines
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Work independently in a fast-paced, stressful environment requiring critical thinking and decisive judgment
