Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Amarillo, TX 79106

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Amarillo, Texas

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30), with 36 or 48 hour weekly options available. 91-day assignment through January 25, 2027.

Highlights:

  • Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring in a centralized location
  • 1:6 patient ratio with support from free-floating charge nurse and house discharge nurse
  • 45-bed unit with average daily census of 37 patients, serving adult and geriatric populations
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
  • Epic charting system with 20 hours of orientation provided
  • First-time travelers accepted with minimum 1 year of experience

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (state or compact license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical/Surgical experience required
  • Recent Epic charting experience (within 6 months) required
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
  • Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, and peripheral line care/management
  • Willingness to float to units of equal or lesser acuity as needed
  • Must reside outside 50-mile radius from the area
