Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Med Surg unit. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while providing high-quality patient care. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for our 3 West unit, where you will be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence.

Unit Specifics:

• Number of Beds: 30
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Unit staffing description: Unit clerk on days, 2-3 PCTs day & night, Nursing Supervisor, Hospitalists
• Type of equipment: Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, GE Telemetry, and Rovers
• Documentation system: Meditech-HCA version
• Medications: WOW for all nurses, PyxisES dispensing system

Scheduling Requirements:

• Equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts/4-week schedule)
• Floating policy: Other M/S areas include general MS, Ortho, PCU (Progressive Care Unit), M/S surgical with oncology. Rotation based on skill mix needs.

Patient Experience Requirements:

• Bedside Rounding
• Hourly Rounding with 5Ps checked
• Reporting to PCTs of known needs at the beginning and during shifts
• Check glass board for department focus areas
• Scrolling video kiosk available as well as email for update references

Certifications Required: BLS/ACLS

Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set: Cardiac knowledge preferred. Must have ACLS/BLS. Advanced skills needed: Knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips.

Procedures Performed on Unit: Chest Tube management, wound vac management, EKGs ad lib.

Dress Code: RN- Navy and CNA/PCT- ceil blue scrub set and jacket (if desired). May wear white, blue, grey, orange, or black t-shirt underneath if desired—no graphics. No artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish.

Unit Guidelines/Policies: Documentation of telemetry application, acknowledging rhythm strips and placing them in the chart each shift. NO PASS ZONE for bed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms, etc.
