• Schedule: Three shifts per week; rotating days and nights, generally 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Orientation: Approximately 16 hours, with required pre-start education
• Scheduling Expectations: Flexibility to rotate shifts based on operational needs and work at least every other holiday

Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of permanent medical-surgical telemetry experience
• Active Ohio nursing license or compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Required credentials must be active and available at the time of submission; pending certifications are not accepted
• Successful completion of required background, credentialing, and fingerprinting processes
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safe medication administration assessments during orientation, with a maximum of two attempts for each assessment
• Ability to provide flexible coverage, including potential floating to comparable units and the emergency department for patients with similar care needs

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical telemetry setting
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly communicate concerns to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols
• Complete thorough patient assessments, care planning, documentation, and patient education
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary services, patients, and families to support positive patient outcomes
• Float to designated comparable units or the emergency department when operationally needed and provide care within the nurse’s scope of practice
• Participate in orientation, competency assessments, rotating shifts, and holiday coverage expectations
