Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 5 years of acute-care nursing experience
• Recent Medical-Surgical, telemetry, or general surgical nursing experience
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and manage a fast-paced, highly acute patient population
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, communication, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to patients on a general surgical and medical overflow unit
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and assess patients for changes in condition, escalating clinical concerns appropriately
• Care for patients undergoing general surgery, colorectal procedures, elective weight-loss surgery, urology, spinal, thoracic, trauma, orthopedic trauma, and endocrine procedures
• Manage a typical assignment of 5–7 patients while maintaining patient safety and quality-of-care standards
• Administer medications and treatments, complete thorough nursing assessments, and document patient care accurately
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
• Provide patient education, support discharge planning, and promote continuity of care
