Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Springfield, MA

Travel Nursing Job Details

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years of relevant medical/surgical telemetry nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Ability to provide safe, effective care for adult patients with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6, with occasional 1:7 assignments
• Flexibility to work rotating weekends, alternating holidays, and float assignments to comparable units

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical telemetry setting
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, clinical status, and patient responses to treatment
• Complete nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Care for patients with a range of medical conditions, including occasional post-bronchoscopy and chest tube patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely while collaborating with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
• Provide patient and family education and support discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and follow unit policies and professional nursing standards
