Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a post-surgical unit, requiring stepdown/PCU and acute care surgical experience.

Details

• Post-surgical unit caring for patients before and after surgical procedures
• Patient care includes new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, and DHT management
• Some patients require stepdown level of care
• Patient ratios of 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for stepdown area
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact/eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience required
• Stepdown/PCU and acute care surgical floor experience required
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• OR candidates will not be considered
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Full date of birth and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care for a variety of patients with health needs ranging from simple to complex
• Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians on examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Candidates must live outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Facility strictly enforces credentialing deadlines with no allowance for start date pushes
• Returning workers may only extend an assignment once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6 month separation before reapplying
