Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele and Surgical Specialty position requiring Med/Surg and step-down experience with floating to any hospital unit.

Details

• Work on the 3rd Floor Overflow unit of a hospital setting
• Med/Surg and step-down experience required for this role
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact/eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge information
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
• Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
