Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring BLS, ACLS, and an active LA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work on a 36-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
  • Staffing includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and a Unit Clerk per shift
  • Patient ratio of 6:1
  • Day shift schedule from 7A-7P
  • Unit equipped with IV infusion pumps, bladder scanners, EKGs, enteral feeding pumps, BiPAPs, Vapotherms, wound vacs, and PCA pumps
  • Provides post-cardiac catheterization care including radial band management, cardiac drips, and continuous telemetry monitoring
  • Uses Medtech EMR system
  • No on-call requirements
  • May float to other Medical-Surgical units based on staffing needs

Requirements

  • Active LA or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
  • Cardiac telemetry, cardiac catheterization recovery, stroke care, chest tube management, and cardiac infusion experience preferred
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include IV starts, cardiac rhythm surveillance and escalation, post-catheterization access-site and neurovascular assessments, chest tube care, and stroke/neuro assessments
  • Nurses wear royal blue scrubs
  • Best suited for candidates who are positive, adaptable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced cardiac/stroke environment
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, with no local candidates accepted
  • First-time travelers may be considered
