Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 24-bed stroke/neuro telemetry unit requiring KY or compact RN licensure and night shift availability.

Details

  • 24-bed Telemetry unit supporting a comprehensive stroke program
  • Specializes in Neurology, Neurosurgery, TIA, and CVA patient care
  • Serves as overflow for orthopedic patients
  • Patients transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU
  • Night shift, 3x12s, 7p-7a schedule
  • Weekends and holidays worked as needed
  • 0.9 FTE position

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS required within 12 months of hire
  • NIHSS required within 3 months of hire
  • Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
  • ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • No prior nursing experience required
  • Stroke/Neuro experience preferred
  • Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
  • Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities
  • Provide patient and family-centered education
  • Delegate and oversee care activities performed by other team members
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives
  • Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
  • First-time travelers may be considered
