Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring KY or compact RN licensure and BLS certification.

Details

• 22-bed telemetry/med-surg unit caring for complex patients including CHF, stroke, ESRD, and post-op cases
• Patients admitted from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, three days per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required within 6 months of start
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and case management coordination
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
