Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse in Columbus, OH. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a mixed acuity PCU/MS Tele unit caring for medical oncology patients. The unit features approximately 24 beds of PCU and 24 beds of MS Tele, providing a dynamic environment for nursing professionals.

Unit Information:

• Mixed acuity PCU/MS Tele unit caring for medical oncology patients
• Patient Diagnoses: Variety of diagnoses from solid tumors to some blood cancers with a high acuity patient population
• Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare and would likely be cared for by permanent staff

Schedule: If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department's needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
• Chemotherapy competence is not required for the unit, but we are willing to help with professional development and send you to our 2-day chemo course for training if interested

Special Equipment:

• B450 monitors GE telemetry system
• Bladder Scanner
• Alaris pumps
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation
• PCA Pumps

Requirements:

• 2 years of inpatient nursing experience required
• 2 years of oncology experience preferred, but NOT REQUIRED
• Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
• Previous travel experience preferred
