Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Medical Surgical/Ortho unit requiring med-surg and telemetry experience with a NC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work on a 38-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry (Ortho) unit
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:10 AM
  • Patient ratio of 6:1, with night stretch ratios of 7:1
  • Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, wound vacs, SCDs, and prima-fit/primo-fit devices
  • Uses Cerner PowerChart EMR
  • Floating required to other medical surgical units and ED holding medical/surgical patients, with travelers floating before permanent staff
  • Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Medical/surgical nursing experience required
  • Telemetry experience required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Perform standard medical surgical duties including peripheral IV starts and dressing changes
  • Team includes charge RN, staff RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretary/HUC support
  • Dress code requires all navy, all white, or white top with navy pants, with navy or white undershirts as needed
  • Ideal candidates are team players with a positive attitude who help others without being asked
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
