Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring an OH or compact license and Epic experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 27 beds specializing in Ortho Surgery, MSK Infections, and Ortho Trauma
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekdays and some weekends
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Utilizes Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and intermediate-level care
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team experience
• Isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care, non-invasive airway management, and peripheral line care experience
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-based nursing care to orthopedic surgery, MSK infection, and ortho trauma patients
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon contract signing due to Ohio state requirements
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
