Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Tele for a night shift contract requiring prior travel nursing experience and IL licensure.

Details

  • Hospital setting caring for inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry admissions in the ICU
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts starting at 19:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as needed (1-2 holidays during contract)
  • Floating required, with priority given to float to other Med/Surg/Tele units
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
  • BLS certification required (American Heart or American Red Cross only)
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele/Neuro experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least 1 completed travel assignment
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Passing score of 80% or higher required on EKG test prior to submission
  • Date of birth required for consideration
  • New graduates not accepted
  • First-time travelers not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care to inpatient Med/Surg/Tele patients within an ICU setting
  • On-site EKG test required on Day 1 of orientation (pass/fail); failure to pass may result in contract termination
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate within a 50-mile radius
  • Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated from employment for 12 months before being considered as a traveler
  • RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for 8-week contracts and 7 days for 13-week contracts
  • Facility conducts a brief interview (approximately 10-15 minutes) as part of the hiring process
