Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring charge RN capability and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit that is telemetry-capable with a primarily Med/Surg patient population
• 1:6 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Required to work Charge RN shifts as needed
• Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
• 26-week contract with no option for 13 weeks
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed, pass/fail)
• Skills required: blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, heparin, insulin, PCA, nasal cannula, isolation precautions/PPE, use of rapid response/code teams, dysrhythmia interpretation/EKG

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, rapid response participation, and administration of blood products and IV medications
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local candidates are accepted
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
