Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Tele

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Patient ratios: RN 1:4-6, LPN 1:4-6, CNA up to 1:14
• Work across Med Surg/Telemetry inpatient units with 20-36 beds per unit
• Travelers will float to all Med/Tele units in-house as needed
• Required skills include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer use
• Must be proficient in all cardiac drips including insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips titrated to heart rate
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Must pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding
• Certification in Med/Surg is a plus
• EMR system: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Medication dispensing: Pyxis
• Monitors: Philips
• Unit-specific equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors and Nova Glucose Stat Strips
• CNA support available for vitals, blood glucose checks, baths, bed changes, feeding, and patient safety
• Unit Secretary on unit from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM; house-wide call secretary available 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Charge nurse, resource team, discharge nurses, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist support available 24/7
• PICC team available; RNs draw off CVLs
• Orientation includes 1 day of facility orientation with educational modules and 2 days of departmental orientation
• Scrub color: Navy for RNs
• Free parking available around campus
