Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg/Tele position requiring recent Cerner charting experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

  • Med/Surg and Pediatrics units with floating required between Med Surg and Tele departments only
  • 35-bed unit with an average monthly department volume of 810 patients
  • Patient population includes Med Surg, Remote Tele, Ortho, Post-op, CHF, and Respiratory cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:6-7, with PCT support covering 14 patients
  • Remote telemetry monitoring used for Med Surg patients
  • Day shift schedule, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required
  • Schedule may vary based on unit needs
  • Uses Cerner EMR system
  • Medication administration performed using bedside scanning

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience required
  • Recent Cerner charting experience required
  • At least 2 completed travel assignments required
  • No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of start
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Responsible for full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Collaborates with other healthcare disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and outcomes
  • Scrub color requirement: navy blue
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible as a traveler
  • RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
  • Candidates who worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years will not be considered
  • First-time travelers are not eligible due to required prior travel assignment experience
