Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of comparable acuity experience and Cerner EMR proficiency.

Details

• Complex Medical Unit focused on acute care
• Patient ratios typically 1:6, varying based on need
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Facility will try to accommodate block scheduling based on patient and unit needs

Requirements

• Active unencumbered TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
• Required Cerner EMR charting experience
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
• Experience managing cardiac drips, PCA, and interpreting dysrhythmias
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols
• Two references required, which may be pending at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Care for patients with complex medical needs including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and renal conditions
• Must pass a basic dysrhythmia interpretation test and medication test during orientation
• Entire weeks during holidays are not approved for RTO, though individual dates may be negotiable depending on staffing needs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
