Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with telemetry and vascular care experience for a night shift position requiring prior travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 16-bed medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities focused on vascular disease diagnoses
• Patient population ranges from young adults through geriatrics
• Unit also admits medical-surgical and telemetry overflow patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Charting performed in Epic
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Floating required
• Weekend shifts required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients with a focus on vascular disease management
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
