Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring tele experience and PALS certification due to pediatric admissions.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care hospital with 78 staffed beds
• Cares for a med/surg patient population that includes pediatric admissions
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:30am-6:00pm)
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
• Possible on-call responsibilities depending on unit needs
• Possible floating based on unit or hospital census
• Uses Meditech charting system
• If a shift is called in, an additional shift must be made up

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN state or compact) required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• PALS certification required prior to start due to pediatric admissions on the unit
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Med/Surg experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Comfortable caring for pediatric patients

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring
• Respond to and support rapid response/code team activations as needed
• Scrubs of any color permitted as long as professional appearance is maintained
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted; those within a 50-mile radius receive a local rate differential
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
