Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit.

Details

  • Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with 18 private rooms and one semi-private room for a maximum census of 20 patients
  • Patient population ranges from young adults through geriatrics with a broad range of care needs
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • 3x12 hour day shifts, 7:00-19:00
  • Weekend rotation required for half of scheduled shifts
  • Epic charting system used

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS certification required, NIHSS preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management preferred
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, and PPE preferred
  • Experience managing CVA, neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients preferred
  • Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred

Additional Information

  • Care for a diverse Med/Surg/Tele patient population with a broad range of acuity levels
  • Utilize rapid response and code teams when necessary
  • Complete required onboarding modules onsite during orientation within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
  • Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not accepted
  • Candidates residing in specific nearby counties are not eligible for consideration
