Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical / Telemetry – Tyler, TX 75701
Start Date: October 6, 2026
Location: Tyler, Texas
Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00), 1:6 patient ratio, approximately half of scheduled shifts include weekends. 91-day assignment with 16 hours of orientation.
Highlights:
- Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit with 19 rooms and a maximum census of 20 patients
- Diverse patient population ranging from young adults through geriatrics with broad care needs
- 18 private rooms and one semi-private room providing quality patient care environment
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Epic charting system with telemetry monitoring capabilities on the unit and remote
- Orientation provided to ensure successful integration into the team
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state or compact license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
- Proficiency in Med/Surg and telemetry skills including IV management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, port access, blood product administration, and wound care
- Must complete core compliance items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
- Geographic restrictions apply for certain local county residents
